Even as a Feyenoord fan is Dennis in my opinion the best player ever. Yes even better then Messi. Bergkamp was more like a ballerina with brains.

bergkamp his first touch was so good every time he got the ball he could shoot without anyone being able to defend

Most footballers can dribble like Messi or dance the ball like Neymar or kick powerful shots like C Ronaldo but only a few can do artistic moves (first touch, vision passing, flamboyant finishing) that Dennis Bergkamp did.

He was a natural goal scorer. He could read the angles to score in the tightest corner. How many strikers today can do that, not many.

You could see him grow. The precision of his goals are beautiful to watch. He credits his father, with hours and hours, of him kicking those shots. Beckham, was very marketable but ppl can not deny how good of a player he was. 22 years playing that sport says a lot about his abilities.

he was the most natural goal scorer I’ve seen, so cool and calculating and deadly accurate. we will never know how good he could be as I think he was still improving when he was injured.

bergkamp is the reason i started following netherlands games and arsenal games. i became an arsenal fan because of him. hes the greatest player to ever play in the premierleague imo. i dont think he gets the credit he deserves.. football eras are different, and you cant compare stats from 1era to another.. you have to simply watch the game with your eyes, and if you did do that, you couldnt take your eyes off bergkamp again.

Owen spoiled his legacy by going to United and that's why people forget he was a Ballon Dor winner and such a good good finisher. Yes he had pace but his game was more than that. Smashed records at youth, scored big goals winning cups with Liverpool and was Englands golden boy. Less injuries he'd easily have scored 60-70 goals for England far more than Rooney. Technically his career was really only 6-7 years.

Micheal Owen was massive in the early 2000s. That 3-4 seasons he was the best striker in England if not the world I think Ronaldo in the 2002-03 season might have had a better time since he won the World Cup and that but Owen was deadly when fit. I went to Egypt to see the pyramids. If you’ve been to Giza or gaza there is loads of beggars. The young kids trying to sell us stuff were calling English people Micheal Owen. These kids were poor and miles away. That’s the effect Micheal Owen had on the world at that time.

Imho two things killed Owen's legacy. Injuries and Man Utd. Owen was a gem in English football and deserved accolades. (Maybe not the Ballon D'or though). He wasn't gonna get this at his boyhood club so he moved away. Eventually ending up at Ferguson's Utd. Which killed any support from Merseyside which gave him his start. All this while injuries killed his pace and damaged his motivation. Making him a shell of his former self. No doubt Owen could have been loved not just in England but worldwide. Huge shame.

He may not have been the most technical and a sprinter he was not, but the man could pick anyone out at 70 yards with an accuracy nobody can replicate EVERY time. he was a set peice master and that right foot of his was simply magical. Beckaahm was a different kind of brillant. Best part of it all, he has shown us he still has the magic in the charity games he has played in. :)
